My Professional Background

I have been a full time Instructional Designer since 2020. Prior to that I was part Instructional Designer and part high school educator. Learning has always been a passion of mine. 

Through teaching I've used countless instructional design techniques. I've designed curriculum, coordinated group events, managed large groups, developed subject matter expertise, and created job aides, among many other things. 

Over the past 10 years I've helped learners of all ages. I enjoy creating user centered tools that help to problem solve and educate. 

What I Like About e-Learning

I love that e-learning allows me to work on multiple projects at once while being creative along the way. I also find that working with subject matter experts allows me to meet amazing people and learn from the best of the best. 

Whether analyzing the task at hand, defining learning objectives, or building courses I always have the learner in mind. 

I'm always up for a new challenge. I love learning new and useful tools. Thankful that e-learning allows remote work so that I can accept opportunities both near and far.  

My Education

I obtained my Master's in Technology and Online Instruction from Slippery Rock University. I studied learning management systems, online learning theories, and learning through educational technologies. 

I have a Bachelor's from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

I began the IDOL courses Academy in June of 2020. The Academy allowed me to gain experience using tools such as Articulate Storyline and Vyond, as well as the opportunity to create measurable assessments. 

A Few Things About Me

I'm a Western PA girl who loves reading, Pittsburgh sports, all things Disney, and traveling with my husband and daughter. I enjoy board games with friends, throwing dinner parties, and playing with my fur babies. Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher. Over the past few years that dream has morphed and changed but education is still my passion.
